Jotun protects property. Our paints, coatings and solutions protect ships, buildings and infrastructure from degradation and corrosion. A key component in many of these assets is steel, the most common engineering material in the world.
However, steel production is highly energy intensive. In a recently published report, preventing steel corrosion – and thereby reducing the need for steel production – is highlighted as one of the keys to a more sustainable future.
Check out the following findings:

In Jotun, we believe that prolonging product life is one of our most important contributions to the world we live in. Remarkably enough, a 0.3 mm coating is enough to protect assets from corrosion. However, there is a huge job behind this thin layer – as you can see for yourself in the video above.
According to the leading rating of companies’ sustainability performance, Jotun climbs to the top 5%. The Gold score is a result of dedicated work across functions.
Utilizing clean energy is a key initiative throughout Jotun. In Vietnam, we now run 36% on solar power and the rest is secured from certified renewable energy sources.
